PATENTED TECHNOLOGY

An invention with infinite possibilities

The patented Bislapis technologyis the only one in the world that makes it possible to bond natural stones having different physical, mechanical and chromatic characteristics in a 2-layer slab of reduced weight and thickness (down to a mere 12 mm).
The patented process also produces surfaces capable of withstanding higher bending forces.

Bislapis technology meets the need to make objects in natural stone (prevalently marble) with reduced thickness and high structural strength.
Thanks to a special formula, fragile slabs of marble can be made stronger and more robust. In technical terms, the slab withstands bending forces from both sides, a characteristic that cannot be obtained naturally or without our special process.
The patent is based on a simple insight that was subjected to a long series of experiments and testing, first on small pieces and then on larger surfaces. The development phase was completed by patent registration and the launching of an exclusive new production technique.
Thanks to Bislapis, designers can now make wider use of various natural stones (even very fragile ones) to make objects that are thin and lightweight but also, “paradoxically”, highly robust. Bislapis is also safe in that a fracturing of the stone will never cause structural failure but only bending, without the danger of breakage typical of traditional slabs.
